Cameron Shafii — Pithy & Prolix

Iranian born, Philadelphia-based musician and researcher continues his sonic practice of creating and assembling electroacoustic fragments and miniatures. Pithy & Prolix is a single 40+ composition that incorporates and reflects on Shafii’s practice which sits somewhere between concrete music, sound collage and exploration of psychoacoustic sound.

Cameron Shafii practices electronic and electroacoustic music. His compositions are inflected with a host of digital synthesis processes and are informed by aspects of acousmatic theory, particularly spectromorphology. Many of his compositions have been published by Anòmia (2015; 2019) and Conditional (2019). He is based in Philadelphia, where he is pursuing a Ph.D. in Comparative Literature and Literary Theory at the University of Pennsylvania.
